To get power, more air, high compression, good sparking. These 3 terms are
absolute conditions.
If so, why automotive maker are always adapting a single throttle system for
stocks to get more air?
My answer is NOT always.
Toyota Callora (4AG / DOHC ) was 4throttle system. Maker code was 101, 111 in
Japan. These two types provided with quick response and appealed for NA engine (
Natural aspiration).
This propose from Toyota and Yamaha ( Yamaha is a good engine supplier to
Toyota) to a market was very sensational for us. Because a single throttle was
an established theory
for stocks.
What are merits of a singe throttle?
1. Idle stability and easy control at low rpm range.
2. Cost save
3. Simple system
And as anything, fuel consumption, A/C control at idle rpm, Electric load
control at idle rpm, etc.
As you might know, these factors are for easy control on street usage. But if
you want more power, it is enough?
Of course answer is NO.
To tune NA engine, high-rpm should be added on 3terms above.@Very quick
acceleration at a stretch is dynamic and so exciting.
Drawing fresh air from individual air-funnels directly to each combustion
chambers.
Synchronizing Flowing air with accelerator like racing machine, this is pure
tuning as sports cars. And if you want to use expensive forged pistons with
large size OD and high spec camshafts, your engine will desire more food to give
full play to his performance.
Of course food means more air and fuel.
