About the rain rail
If we talk about the hood, we have to mention the following items:
- hood cloth
- frame pipe
- side weatherstripping
- rain rail
In the case of Maruha's construction we set up a nylon belt that can bear the glass's weight and the pipe can be installed to the set position.
At the time of the setup,rivet and some other small parts are necessary.
1. The rain rail's function
It becomes the "guiding passage" of the waste water.
If this part is damaged, or if there is some imperfection during the setup, it becomes the reason for the leaking into the room.
It is a very important part.

The hood is set up while paying attention to the overlap of the lip molding and the rain rail.
There are cases when because of the setup imperfections or deterioration of the rain rail rain water might get inside the room.

2. Durability and material of the rain rail
The rain rail is made of plastic material similar to nylon.
If it is bent strongly, it might be damaged, that's why when buying the product from
us, you will get it in a very long cardboard box.
It's strictly prohibited to bend the rain rail, that's why sometimes the length of the box might be over 2m.
These days rain rails' quality is getting better and the material they are made of is different.
Compared to the rain rails set up in the era of NA, the new ones are quite soft and elastic.
The latest used materials are soft and their durability is good.
There are cases when after removing the old hood the rain rail is cracked at few points.
The old types can crack very easily. We don't recommend their re-usage.
Even in the case of removal there might be small cracks in the rain rail. Although proceeding cautiously one might hesitate to re-use the deteriorated plastic product.
3. Exchange of the rain rail
The rain rail is fastened to the hood's edge with rivets. When exchanging it, the whole hood has to be removed from the car and the rivets have to be fixed again. For these reasons the exchange is difficult and time-consuming.
The best time for the rain rail exchange is the time of the hood's exchange. If you do it later, it will consume too much money.
We recommend you simultaneous exchange.
